we finally feel like we have something accomplished! kendall’s room is just about complete. just some minor touches – like some decor on the walls & window treatments are all that need to be done. if you can remember, her room just had an off-white cream color on the walls. it was pretty plain jane, so we added a little color, but wanted to keep a cool, relaxing feel to it.that’s why we went with a deep violet with a grey tone plus light grey on the rest of the walls.
this little girl loves to play in her room & in her closet “playroom.”
the closet above & below are two different closets. yep, how many 1 year old girls do you know with two closets?! i had a hard time deciding which upstairs bedroom to give her. the other bedroom has one decent sized, walk-in closet and a bathroom. but, you have to enter that bedroom to get to the bathroom, so that would be buggy to me having someone come in my room to use the restroom. and for now, it will be nice to have the next baby in the room with the bathroom since i will be up with him or her more in the night more than kendallplus, kendall has a playroom (below). i want to brighten this up a bit without painting the walls so it really looks more like a playroom (but no bright paint in case it becomes a closet again later). she also needs a bookshelf for her 3 full boxes of books!
and our last addition is this baby gate that my dad built for us. it’s stained to closely match our hardwood flooring that will be installed soon, so that’s why it looks so off from the stair railing/spindles. eventually, i would love to replace the stair railing with wood that matches the hardwood & wrought iron spindles (and replace that awful, hideous light fixture you see hanging!). all things will come in time….
